Usage Note
Silencieusement describes action carried out without making a sound. The related adjective silencieux ('silent, quiet') also describes a gun suppressor (un silencieux). The noun silence is often used in commands: Silence ! ('Quiet!'). Compare with discrètement ('discreetly'), which implies avoiding notice rather than noise.
