Usage Note
Séjourner means to spend a period of time somewhere — more formal than rester and typically implies a temporary stay of at least a day. The related noun séjour ('stay, living room') is much more common in everyday speech and also denotes the main room of an apartment.
Examples
"Nous avons séjourné une semaine à Lyon."
