Usage Note

Ridiculiser means to make someone or something look ridiculous, often publicly. The reflexive se ridiculiser means to make a fool of oneself. It is stronger than se moquer de (to mock) and implies the victim's dignity is damaged. The adjective ridicule can also stand alone as a noun meaning 'absurdity.'
