Usage Note
Provocant is the masculine singular form; the feminine is provocante. It describes behaviour, dress, or speech designed to provoke a reaction — often with a sexual connotation when referring to appearance. The synonymous provocateur / provocatrice is used as a noun for a person who stirs up trouble.
