Paradoxe is used in philosophy, science, and everyday argument. The related adjective paradoxal/paradoxale and adverb paradoxalement are both common in formal writing. The phrase le paradoxe de followed by a name (e.g. le paradoxe d'Épiménide) is a typical academic formulation.
