Usage Note

Méditation covers both religious contemplation and the modern mindfulness practice (la méditation de pleine conscience). The verb is méditer (also méditer sur — 'to reflect on something'). In everyday French, faire de la méditation is the standard way to say 'to meditate' as a regular practice.
