Also means
moss
Usage Note
Mousse is feminine (une mousse) and is famously polysemous: it means foam (on beer, sea, or a latte), moss (the plant), and the culinary mousse (mousse au chocolat). Mousse à raser is shaving foam. The masculine un mousse is an old nautical term for a cabin boy, but this sense is rare today.
Examples
"Elle a préparé une mousse au chocolat."
Natural Translation
She made a chocolate mousse.
