Moulant comes from the verb mouler (to mould, to cast) and describes clothing that fits very closely to the body's shape. The feminine form is moulante. It is neutral to slightly informal in register — une robe moulante is a figure-hugging dress. The word is particularly common in fashion and clothing descriptions.
