Usage Note

monté is the past participle of monter used as an adjective. Bien monté can mean well-equipped or well-organised. In jewellery, une bague montée is a ring with a stone set in it. The phrase monté sur ressorts ('spring-mounted') illustrates its technical use for mechanically fitted parts.
