minuter

to time precisely, to schedule to the minute

verb mee-nu-TEH Rare

Usage Note

Minuter means to plan or execute something timed to the minute — un discours minuté is a tightly timed speech. It is also a legal term: minuter un acte notarié means to draft and register an official notarial deed. The noun la minute as a legal term means the original copy of a notarial act retained by the notary, quite distinct from the time unit.

Examples

"Le responsable a minute chaque intervention."

Natural Translation

The coordinator timed each presentation to the minute.
