Milord is a French adaptation of the English 'my lord', historically used to address or refer to a wealthy English aristocrat travelling on the Continent. It carries a slightly archaic or ironic flavour today. The famous song 'Milord' by Édith Piaf (1959) made the word internationally known. The final d is silent in French pronunciation.
