Mesdemoiselles is the formal plural of mademoiselle, used to address a group of young unmarried women. It is increasingly rare in official French contexts — since 2012 government documents in France dropped mademoiselle as a title, leaving only madame and monsieur. In everyday speech the plural is encountered mainly in traditional or theatrical settings.
