Lutteur is the agent noun from lutter (to wrestle, to struggle). It refers specifically to a wrestler in sport, but lutteur can also be used figuratively for someone who fights tenaciously against hardship. The feminine form is lutteuse. La lutte is the noun for wrestling and, more broadly, for struggle or fight.
