Usage Note
Inconsciemment is the adverb from inconscient ('unconscious', 'unaware') and describes actions done without awareness or intention. Learners should note the spelling: the '-emment' ending, shared by many French adverbs from '-ent' adjectives, is always pronounced '-ah-MAHN'. Its opposite is consciemment ('consciously', 'knowingly').
