Usage Note
Généreusement is formed from the adjective généreuse (feminine of généreux) plus -ment. It modifies verbs describing giving, sharing, or offering, and can also describe a large quantity in informal use: généreusement beurré ('generously buttered'). The base adjective généreux/généreuse also carries the sense of 'plentiful'.
