Usage Note
Frire is a highly defective verb: in practice only the infinitive, frit/frite (past participle), and compound tenses are commonly used. To fill the gaps, faire frire (to fry) is used for present-tense constructions. Frite as a noun means a French fry, and friteuse is a deep fryer.
Examples
"Elle fait frire les pommes de terre dans l'huile."
Natural Translation
She fries the potatoes in oil.
