Usage Note

flèche refers to an arrow (the weapon or a directional symbol) as well as the pointed spire of a church. The flèche directionnelle is a directional arrow used in signage. A famous cultural reference is the flèche de Notre-Dame de Paris, the spire that collapsed in the 2019 fire and has since been rebuilt.
