Fin is feminine as a noun — la fin du film — but it has an adjectival twin meaning 'fine' or 'thin' that agrees with its noun (fin/fine), so that gender follows the noun rather than being fixed. The adverb enfin (finally) is built from en + fin, and à la fin means 'in the end' or, with exasperation, 'come on!'.
