Usage Note

Enduire means to spread or apply a coating material—plaster, paint, grease—onto a surface: enduire un mur de plâtre ('to plaster a wall'). The past participle enduit also functions as a noun, un enduit ('a coating, render, plaster'). The verb follows the irregular conduire conjugation pattern.
