Dixième functions as an ordinal adjective (le dixième étage — the tenth floor) and as a noun (un dixième — one tenth). As a fraction it is used in everyday maths: deux dixièmes = 0.2. In French administrative divisions, le dixième arrondissement of Paris is commonly shortened to le dixième in speech.
