Usage Note

Dissimuler is a regular -er verb meaning to conceal something deliberately, with a stronger sense of intentional deception than cacher. The reflexive se dissimuler means to hide oneself. The derived adjective dissimulé describes a secretive or sly person, and dissimulation (concealment) is the noun form.
