Dépuceler is an informal, crude verb meaning to take someone's virginity. The root pucelle (f) is an archaic word for 'virgin' or 'maiden' — most famously in la Pucelle d'Orléans, a title for Joan of Arc. The verb is considered vulgar in most registers and rarely appears in formal writing.
