Usage Note

Construire is an irregular verb (like conduire) and is used for constructing buildings, infrastructure, and abstract things such as arguments or relationships — construire une phrase ('to construct a sentence'). The noun construction and adjective constructif share the root. Se construire reflexively means 'to build oneself up' or 'to develop'.
