Usage Note

Chanceux is the adjective from chance (luck). The feminine form is chanceuse. It describes a person who enjoys good luck, rather than a lucky object or event — for those, French uses favorable or heureux. Tu es vraiment chanceux is a natural compliment in casual conversation.
