Usage Note

Éhonté is a strong adjective condemning total absence of shame, used in formal and literary registers to describe blatant lies ('un mensonge éhonté') or flagrant hypocrisy. The feminine form is éhontée. It is largely a written-language word; in speech 'sans honte' or 'effronté' are more common.
